JenniferMorrisPhoto, StellaPesci (my mother making her Treasury debut!), BijouxOdalisque,

Etsy Spotlight...

Yesterday afternoon I finally finished the necklace that I started a few weeks ago and featured in this My Creative Space post.. After puzzling over how to finish the chain for the very elaborate lace pendant below for quite awhile, inspiration struck...!

I came upon the idea of making a chain dotted with aquamarine, and interspersed with links of amazonite and freshwater pearls adorned with my hand-made lace bead caps in silver thread. A very time consuming design--but I think the results are well worth it!

And so, may I present to you the
Dauphine Necklace:

This design was inspired by a portrait of Marie Antoinette as a young girl by the Austrian court painter Martin Van Meytens..in it she's wearing a lovely powder blue dress with a stomacher covered in blue, silver and white ribbons...
The stomacher inspired the colors and elongated shape of the pendant. It has my signature hand-made lace of real silver thread, delicate, powder blue flowers crocheted of the finest cotton thread, vintage rhinestones, amazonite and quartz crystals..

The pendant measures almost 5" in length and is designed to rest gracefully just below the collar bone. It ends in a freshwater pearl drop with lace bead caps, and a dainty vintage rhinestone teardrop...

The Dauphine Necklace is part of my Wedding Collection and is now available in my Etsy shop...

And in other news--Edera Jewelry is getting a new look, with a new logo design, new hang tags, and even a new profile for my Etsy shop! I'll post the results soon :)

Etsy Spotlight...

I just added these earrings to my Etsy shop this morning--they are the pair I featured in my Creative Space post earlier this week (thank you for all the sweet comments about that post by the way!)

Cascade Earrings:
These earrings are very dramatic, and have sort of a modern, yet organic feel to them...
They feature shoulder-dusting strands of real gold threads woven with dozens of vintage seed beads, freshwater pearls, citrine and Swarovski crystals that sway gracefully when worn...
Above, a detail shot of the bead work...
This picture provides a sense of their length--because they were so long, they were a bit tricky to photograph!
More photos and information on the design can
 be viewed here.

And while you're on Etsy, you might want to check out this Treasury I just created with lots of  items in dreamy, ethereal golden colors...

It features the work of :
ARabbitGirl, MoxieandOliver, AAARealGem,
PlumeVine, LeavesofGold, ThisYearsGirl,
Ambera, SwanBones, Silocurb,
Post, JenniferMorrisPhoto, IrenaSophia

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

My Creative Space...

Well, I've put aside for a little while the necklace that I started last week...I am stumped right now about what to do for the chain. Since the pendant was so elaborate, everything either looks too busy or too plain! I find that when this happens, if I put it away for a few days and look at it with fresh eyes the answer typically jumps out at me.

So, in the meantime I've started a new pair of earrings for the Etsy shop--here is a little sneak peek of them on my desk right now:

They are rather modern looking--a long cascade of vintage seed beads, freshwater pearls, citrine and Swarovski crystal. I'm putting the finishing touches on them this afternoon and will post more pics of them tomorrow!
