It's been a busy week here in the studio! First, I discovered that another one of my designs was selected for a Gift Guide on Etsy...

There they are, up in the second row (very exciting!)

Then, I finished up the necklace that I was working on the other week in my Creative Space post...
{Ortensia Necklace}
The square shape of the pendant is something new--as are the hand-dyed threads that I used for the little bouquet of flowers. They reminded my of hydrangeas, so I named the necklace "Ortensia" which is the Italian name for the flowers. This design is headed to Gallery 103 in Vermont. *
It will be accompanied by some other jewelry I've been working on, including these earrings in shades of pale tanzanite, aquamarine and silver...

{Silvanella Earrings}

And these little earrings...
{Lilac Earrings}
A variation on my button earring style--the lavender color on these makes me happy!

I am also starting to add new Fall designs to my Etsy shop. The first one is this jeweled brooch...

I was inspired by the opulent textiles of the French designer Paul Poiret, whose exotic clothing designs were the talk of Paris in the 1910's and 1920's...

I crocheted its wings with a selection of silk and cotton threads in a rich palette of sapphire, peridot, lapis and jet. I then embellished them with hundreds of beads and stones using a technique called tambour embroidery...essentially, it's embroidering with a crochet hook and was used in the heavily beaded dresses from that era...

I have several other new designs started, but I may not have them finished for awhile--my wedding is rapidly approaching, so I'll be spending a lot of time in the next two weeks preparing for it! I'll be sure to post some pics of it as soon as I have them :)
